If you’re pregnant, you’ll keep taking progesterone to support the growing baby. Your TRIO doctor will continue to see you for 7 or 8 weeks, monitoring the baby with obstetrical ultrasound. After that your own obstetrician will take over and care for you and your baby through the rest of your pregnancy and birth.
If this IVF cycle was not successful, we’ll be here to provide support, to review and discuss the cycle with you, and to help you decide your next step when you’re ready.
Both your doctor and the lab director will carefully review the IVF cycle and your doctor will discuss it with you. Sometimes there is no good reason why you did not become pregnant and sometimes the difficulty is more complex. But other times your doctor may have some answers as to why you didn’t conceive. If you choose to try again, your doctor can use what was learned from this cycle to adjust the treatment plan and hopefully improve your chance of success next time.
