Shaishta Malik, DNP, RNC-MNN, RN, CLE
Shaishta Malik, TRIO’s Nurse Manager since April 2021, is a highly experienced professional who attained her nursing degree at Grand Canyon University. She is a holder of the prestigious Sigma Scholarship and was invited to give a lecture about ‘Neonatal Outcomes and Improvement’ for the internationally known lecture series “TED Talks”.
Prior to joining TRIO, Shaishta worked in the field of obstetrics. She is passionate about women’s health care, and explained “coming from obstetrics, joining TRIO afforded me the opportunity to work in family building from the opposite perspective – the very beginning of the journey, and to enhance my own knowledge and experience in the area of fertility care.”
Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, Shaishta manages TRIO’s operating room and primary care nursing teams, ensuring the smooth functioning of schedules, staffing and all other aspects of nursing care.
Shaishta is a member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) and the National Association of Indian Nurses of America (NAINA). For the past ten years, Shaishta worked at an acute care facility as Clinical Coordinator, managing several aspects of departmental care, including maternal-child labour and delivery, and Neonatal ICU care. Professionally, her current interests include improving pregnancy and neonatal outcomes. She is working on her doctoral thesis in the area of gestational diabetes and improving postprandial blood glucose levels.
