First and foremost, we want you to know that we are here for you now and always

This is a difficult time for fertility patients. We know that many of you feel anxious, stressed and upset about cancelled or postponed cycles, not to mention the health emergency facing our country and the whole world. We are taking our guidance from federal, provincial and local health experts who are taking important steps to keep everyone safe and healthy. In addition, our medical and administration team meets daily to discuss new developments, and to review how to provide the best care to our patients during this time, as well as prepare for our eventual re-opening.

 For the health and safety of all of our patients and staff, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, TRIO has suspended all treatment cycles as of March 18th and will no longer accept Day 1 calls to begin treatment. This also means that any diagnostic testing (such as AMH, DNA Fragmentation testing and sonohysterograms) will be suspended at this time.

However, we want you to know that although the doors to our clinic may be closed, we remain available to you:

The Medical Team:

TRIO doctors and many of the nurses will be working from home during this time. Whether you’re a new or returning patient, you can book follow up appointments, protocol appointments and other such appointments to create or review a treatment plan with your doctor from 9:00am – 3:00pm every weekday. These appointments will be done through telemedicine, by telephone: Please call 416-506-0804 and follow the prompts to reach your doctor’s office, or email your doctor’s office to reach a medical secretary who will book an appointment for you. 

  • If you’re an IUI or IVF patient, please call your doctor for your follow up appointment(s). You and your doctor can discuss your treatment protocol for your next cycle.
  • If you’ve recently come through a failed treatment cycle, please call your doctor’s office to set up a phone consultation to review your next steps, which could include a new protocol for Cycle Monitoring, IUI or IVF.
  • If you’re a new patient, please call your doctor’s office to set up your first appointment. At this time there is no access to testing. However, you and your doctor can discuss next steps, including which tests might be appropriate for you.

Our doctors have had many inquiries from patients who are wondering if they should be trying on their own during this interruption in treatment. At this time, we really don’t have enough accurate information about the effects of COVID-19 on pregnant women or babies, so this has to be an individual decision for each patient.

The Nursing Team:

Many of the nurses you are familiar with will also be working during the COVID crisis. If you have questions about your care or are feeling anxious about the interruption in your treatment, please feel free to contact your nurse.

The Lab:

Our Lab Director, Dr. Jim Meriano, will be on site monitoring the lab often, on a regular basis to ensure the health, safety and security of your frozen eggs, sperm and embryos. And we have an alarm system that monitors the storage facilities 24/7.

The Pharmacy:

Toronto Wellness Pharmacy will close on March 28, Saturday and re-open when TRIO Fertility resumes normal operation.  If you need assistance during this temporary closure, please call 647-276-0060 or email A staff member will respond within 24 hours.

Counselling and Support:

TRIO has free online Facebook support groups for our patients. These groups provide a space for patients to connect, post questions and comments any time, and participate in live discussions moderated by a counsellor. All of our groups are moderated by Reina Zatylny, MSW, RSW.

If you are planning for an IVF cycle, now may be a good time to book an appointment with one of our fertility counsellors. At TRIO, counselling is mandatory before an IVF Cycle. In addition, our counsellors can help with additional support during this difficult time.
