Social Egg Freezing
Many women today are choosing to have a family on their own terms, that is, when they feel ready to have children. This could be when they have met their life partner, have pursued their education, are settled in their career, or for other personal reasons. If you are between the ages of 19 and 39 and want the choice to start a family at a later date, our egg freezing program can help give you that option.
Violet™ is a non-invasive, AI-based software tool that assesses and analyzes images of a patient’s eggs to predict the chances of each egg to successfully fertilize and reach the blastocyst stage. Social egg freezing patients at TRIO will receive a complete report on each of their frozen eggs, along with an analysis of the quality of each egg and its likelihood to become a blastocyst when fertilized. TRIO is the first clinic in Canada to offer this technology to our social egg freezing patients

We need to know your situation better. At your first appointment, we’ll take a complete medical history for you and your partner, if you have one. This visit is covered by OHIP.
Your doctor will order blood tests for you and your partner (if you have one). If you have already done some testing and you bring them to your doctor, you will not need to do them again. Female patients will have an ultrasound and male patients will have sperm tests. This phase may also include monitoring your cycle to see what your body does naturally. Most tests are covered by OHIP.

An Ivf Cycle includes a pretreatment phase and then blood and ultrasound monitoring over a 2-week period. You will be asked to come to the clinic for this 5-7 times. Monitoring starts at 7:00am and continues throughout the day, on weekdays and weekends. Appointments are pre-booked and scheduled in 15-minute intervals. These measures are designed for safety reasons during the COVID-19 pandemic to limit the volume of people in the clinic at any given time. You will be given a specific date and time for each monitoring appointment. Your doctor will review your results after each visit and decide on the dosage for your daily injections. After approximately 10-12 days of your daily injection, your doctor will decide when it's time for your egg retrieval.
The process of retrieving your eggs takes about 15 minutes. You’ll be given a sedative and a local anesthetic. A TRIO doctor will use a needle to drain the fluid and eggs from the follicles.
Following this, all healthy eggs will be frozen and stored for future use.
