Cycle Monitoring and IUI

If you’ve been trying to get pregnant for a while, you’re not alone. Everybody is different and it takes some of us longer than others. Cycle Monitoring and IUI are often recommended for new patients. Cycle monitoring observes a patient throughout a menstrual cycle to assess a range of factors. Cycle monitoring may be combined with timed intercourse or intrauterine insemination (IUI).

Cycle Monitoring with Timed Intercourse or IUI

Cycle Monitoring with Timed Intercourse or IUI

Cycle monitoring involves 5 to 10 days of blood tests and ultrasounds over a 2-week period. Monitoring starts at 7:00am and continues throughout the day, on weekdays and weekends. Appointments are pre-booked and scheduled in 15-minute intervals. These measures are designed for safety reasons during the COVID-19 pandemic to limit the volume of people in the clinic at any given time. You will be given a specific date and time for each monitoring appointment. Your doctor will decide when the timing is right for you to have timed intercourse or have your partner or donor’s sperm washed for insemination.

Pregnancy Test

This is done 10 to 14 day following intercourse or insemination. Results are reviewed by your physician and next steps determined.
