Testing Phase
Testing Phase
Your doctor will order blood tests for you and your partner (if you have one). If you have already done some testing and you bring them to your doctor, you will not need to do them again. Female patients will have an ultrasound and male patients will have sperm tests. This phase may also include monitoring your cycle to see what your body does naturally. Most tests are covered by OHIP.

Sperm Donor
A third party services donor coordinator is readily available to all patients to explain procedures, coordinate appointments and assist patients in finding suitable egg donors. The coordinator is instrumental in assisting patients and their donors in navigating the altruistic egg donor program at TRIO.
All donors are screened by our medical team: they are seen by a physician and a counsellor who specializes in reproductive issues. In addition, donors undergo extensive lab testing including genetic screening. Other mandatory evaluations include ultrasounds prior to being approved as an egg donor. Finally, our patients as well as their donors are advised of their legal rights and obligations through meetings with independent lawyers versed in the legalities associated with reproduction technology.
