Dr. Carl A. Laskin, MD, FRCPC

Dr. Laskin is a founding partner and Managing Director of TRIO Fertility, and one of Canada’s foremost experts in reproductive immunology and recurrent pregnancy loss. In 1987, he established the Treatment and Evaluation of Recurrent Miscarriage (TERM) Programme — which became Canada’s largest program dedicated to the study and treatment of recurrent pregnancy loss. Today, he co-leads TRIO’s RPL program alongside Dr. Sony Sierra, still the largest early recurrent pregnancy loss program in Canada.
Dr. Laskin is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Medicine (Rheumatology) and Obstetrics & Gynaecology (REI) at the University of Toronto, and a Past President of the Canadian Fertility & Andrology Society (CFAS). In 2022, he received the prestigious CFAS Award of Excellence for his outstanding contributions to reproductive medicine. His research has been published in the New England Journal of Medicine and numerous other peer-reviewed journals.
