At TRIO Fertility, the Fresh Start Program is designed for patients who have experienced one or more unsuccessful embryo transfers and are ready to begin a new IVF cycle with a more informed, individualized plan.
Rather than simply repeating the same approach, our team reviews what happened in your prior cycle, looks closely at embryo development, uterine factors, transfer timing, and treatment protocols, and builds a plan around what we learn.

What is the Fresh Start Program?

The Fresh Start Program is a structured IVF program for patients who have had a prior failed embryo transfer, either at TRIO or another clinic, and want a new full IVF cycle with TRIO.

Your care begins with a detailed review of your previous treatment history. From there, your physician and the TRIO team identify what may need to be investigated, adjusted, or approached differently before moving forward.

This is not about simply trying again. It is about using your previous cycle as a clinical starting point.

Who is this Program for?

The Fresh Start Program may be right for patients who:

  • Have had one or more embryo transfers that did not result in pregnancy or ongoing pregnancy
  • Have completed IVF at TRIO or another fertility clinic
  • Want a second opinion before starting another IVF cycle
  • Want a more detailed review of embryo quality, uterine preparation, transfer timing, or treatment protocol
  • Are ready to begin a new full IVF cycle with embryos created in TRIO’s lab

How the Fresh Start Program Works

We review your previous IVF cycle

Your TRIO physician will review your fertility history, previous stimulation protocol, embryo development, PGT-A results if applicable, uterine lining development, transfer timing, and any other relevant medical information. The goal is to understand what happened before deciding what should happen next.

We identify what needs a closer look

A failed transfer can raise important questions. Was the embryo developing as expected? Was the uterine lining ready? Was the timing appropriate? Did the previous protocol produce the response we would want to see? Your care team will recommend further assessment only when it is clinically appropriate and supported by evidence.

We evaluate embryo and uterine factors

Because embryo health is one of the most important factors in implantation, we carefully review available embryology information and genetic testing results. We also assess the uterine environment, including the endometrium, hormone preparation, lining development, and transfer timing.

We build a revised plan

Once your history and test results have been reviewed, your physician will create an individualized plan for your next IVF cycle. This may include changes to your stimulation protocol, embryo testing approach, uterine preparation, transfer timing, or other treatment details based on your specific history.

You begin a new full IVF cycle at TRIO

The Fresh Start Program is built around a new full IVF cycle with TRIO. This means embryos are created, cultured, monitored, and transferred through TRIO’s own IVF lab and clinical team. This continuity allows our team to understand every step of the cycle and make recommendations based on information we can directly review and stand behind.

Yes. To see a TRIO fertility specialist, you will need a referral from a physician or nurse practitioner. Your doctor can send a referral and any relevant testing to referrals@triofertility.com.

If you do not have a physician in Ontario, our team can help connect you with a nurse practitioner who can complete an intake call and referral.

Yes. The Fresh Start Program is designed for patients who have had a failed embryo transfer at TRIO or elsewhere and are ready to begin a new full IVF cycle with TRIO.

We will review the information available from your prior cycle and use it to guide your next treatment plan.

The Fresh Start Program is built around full IVF cycles at TRIO. This means every embryo transferred through the program is created and cultured in TRIO’s own lab, under our own embryology protocols, from the beginning.

This allows our team to speak directly to the embryo’s development, grading, and culture conditions, which is an important part of how we make transfer recommendations.

Because of this, we are not able to accept embryos created at outside facilities into the Fresh Start Program. If you have embryos stored elsewhere and are unsure of your options, our team can talk this through with you during a consultation.

Not by default. Every Fresh Start cycle begins with a review of your prior treatment history. Your physician will recommend adjustments when your previous cycle suggests a different approach may be appropriate.

Testing depends on your individual history. Your physician may recommend further uterine assessment, endometrial evaluation, review of embryo genetics, or selected additional testing where clinically appropriate.

The goal is to focus on investigations that may meaningfully inform your next treatment plan.

The program is led by TRIO’s experienced fertility team, with clinical oversight from physicians who specialize in IVF, implantation, embryo development, and recurrent implantation challenges.
